Assembly elections between February 17 and 22

The Election Commission today announced the dates for the election to four state assemblies.

The election in Bihar will be held in three phases -- February 12, 17 and 22 . Polling in Orissa will take place on February 17 and 22. Haryana will go to the polls on February 22, while voting in Manipur will take place on February 12 and 22.

The Commission also announced that by-election to five Lok Sabha seats -- including Bellary in Karnataka and Kannauj in Uttar Pradesh -- will also be held during the same period.

The counting of votes for all the assembly seats will be held simultaneously on February 25.
