MCC kills four, sets Bihar

The deceased were supporters of the Sangharsh Jan Mukti Morcha and Tuesday's killings were in retaliation for an incident of November 30, in which the SJMM had hacked to death four tribal supporters of the MCC in Burhu village, the RIG said.

The bodies of those killed were recovered about eight km from the Ghaghra block headquarters on Wednesday, the RIG said.

Gumla SP Regi Dungdung, who is camping at the spot with senior police officials, said over the telephone that the police had recovered pamphlets in which the MCC had declared that the killings were in retaliation for the Burhu incident.

Chief minister Babulal Marandi has announced a compensation of Rs one lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased. Central Reserve Police Force and Bihar Military Police personnel have been deployed in the area.

In another incident of extremist violence, MCC men set ablaze the house of former Bihar chief minister K B Sahay in Brinda village on Tuesday night.

The attack on Sahay's house was carried out with a dynamite, the police said, adding that the reason of the attack was not known. No casualties were reported.
