Katiyar denies Sudershan's claim

Bharatiya Janata Party politician Vinay Katiyar said on Tuesday night that the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya on December 6, 1992, was the handiwork of the karsevaks of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

"The structure in Ayodhya was pulled down by karsevaks. It is wrong to suggest that it was demolished by the Congress or ... Mulayam Singh Yadav," he told a television news programme.

Katiyar said that being a leader of the Hindus he would initiate a dialogue with the Muslims and seek their cooperation in an effort to resolve the Ayodhya issue.
