Priest shot dead in Manipur: PTI

Sources said two youths took Rev Fr Jacob Chittinapilly (30) alias Fr Shajan on Saturday at gunpoint from St Joseph's parish from Sugnu, about 60 km from Imphal and shot him dead at a place nearby.

The motive behind the killing was not immediately known, sources said. The gunmen also took away a jeep, the sources said, adding that an underground group had demanded payment of Rs 50,000 from St Joseph's School, Sugnu. Police investigations are in progress.
