14 killed in smash-up on Agra-Bombay highway

Fourteen persons were killed and 31 were seriously injured when their tractor trolley collided with a truck on the Agra-Bombay national highway, about 85 km from Shivpuri Monday, police said.

The victims, belonging to Khan Ki Devri village of Shivpuri district, were on their way to pay obeisance to Goddess Sheetla Mata near Panihar on the occasion of Somwati Amavasya, police said Tuesday.

Seven victims died on the spot, while seven succumbed to injuries on their way to hospital in Gwalior and during treatment, police added.

The injured were admitted to J A Hospital at Gwalior.
