12 killed as bus falls into Chenab

At least 12 people were killed and 30 injured when a bus plunged into a river in Kashmir, an official said Tuesday.

The bus carrying 51 passengers plunged into the Chenab river on Sunday near the state's Saharpur district, he said.

"All the 12 people who died were sitting atop the bus when it plunged into Chenab river. We have not recovered their bodies as yet. About 30 people were seriously injured," he said.
