Five jawans hurt in mine blast in Kashmir

At least five army personnel were injured in a mine blast at Aslerkhan Bandipora in north Kashmir while elsewhere in the valley a militant was among the two people killed since Monday evening.

Official sources said at least five army personnel were injured, one of them critically, when their vehicle was caught in a mine at Aslerkhan Bandipora last evening.

A massive hunt has been launched to nab these responsible for the blast.

The body of one Azizur Rehman, missing for the past 20 days, was recovered from a nullah at Pulwama last evening.

Security forces killed a militant in an encounter at Sumbal early this morning, and recovered some arms and ammunition.

A counter-insurgent, Ghulam Ahmad Rah, was shot at and injured by militants at Sumbal last night.
