Radhika R Shankar

NHancement Technologies, a high-tech company specializing in multimedia systems that improve internal and external communications functions has appointed Ram V Mani, a veteran in voice processing computer telephony, to play a dual leadership role in their new subsidiary company.

As the newly-appointed president of NHancement Software Technologies Inc, based in Fremont, California, Mani will direct the company's vital transition from a respected reseller of voice processing and telephony products to a provider of complete end-to-end unified communication solutions.

Mani is expected to use his over 25 years of experience in software development in India and the United States in his role as the company's chief technology officer.

"In today's complicated corporate environment, simplification and orchestration of multimedia communications is key to success," said Mani.

As an independent systems integrator, NHancement Technologies designs sophisticated computer telephony integration solutions, combining voice and data applications of various manufacturers to address specific communications requirements.

"Our virtual data base technology and customized communication solutions empower our clients with seamless customer service capabilities that they have never before imagined," said Mani.

Mani is to use his extensive experience in software development to guide the direction of growth for NHancement Technologies' customized software development. Mani said he was particularly excited about working with the company's development area.

Mani, who has a BSEE from the University of Burdwan in India and an MSEE from Stanford University, is confident that he will be able to run a tight ship and oversee all product development efforts for the company.

NHancement products orchestrate the client's use of telephone, email, fax, pagers and web-based communications since enterprises have to cope with many communications channels and a mobile workforce. NHancement's end-to-end solutions suite makes it possible for companies to do business on the road as effectively as in the office.

Businesses expect to cut down on time and increase profitability by simplifying business communications and improving access to distributed corporate information (data) resources.

With the growth of e-commerce, Nhancement Technologies' range of computer telephony products and services -- which can be used in both Internet environments and over standard telephone lines -- is expected to grow rapidly. Mani will be the driving force of the company's plans of global expansion.

Mani's career in software development started in 1976 when he began work as an independent consultant in the San Francisco Bay area. After working with high-tech companies like Voicemail International, Atari, Verbatim, Shugart Associates and National Semiconductors, Mani decided to start his own company in India in 1988.

He founded and built SVG Software Private Limited from a two-man operation to a company with over 65 programmers within 10 years. The Madras-based firm developed products for companies like Broderbund Software, Sierra OnLine, Forum Communications, and Apple Computer.

Nhancement Technologies, which was started two years ago to address the increasing communication needs of major corporations, institutions, government entities, and service providers grew from simple standalone solutions to global, networked solutions, to the cellular and emerging personal communications services solutions.

With the company's net revenues for the third fiscal quarter, which ended June 30, 1999, at $ 6.7 million as compared to $ 3.3 million for the same period in 1998, it records a net profit of $ 251,800 for the three-month period, compared to $ 47,600 for the same period last year.

Douglas S Zorn, president and CEO of NHancement Technologies says that under Mani's direction the company's growth in development and implementation of highly specialized software solutions could be exponential.

"We can now provide our clients with a full toolbox of remarkable state-of-the-art information access technologies," said Zorn. "This achievement implies some exciting ramifications to our investors. With the recent acquisition of intuitive search engine technology, we have positioned ourselves as a leading end-to-end software solutions company in the new converging technologies market," he said.
