LS Speaker to be elected on Friday
The recently constituted 13th Lok Sabha will begin its business today after the oath-taking of the newly elected members.
The session is likely to continue till October 29.
The first two days will be devoted to oath-taking of the members by Pro-tem Speaker Indrajit Gupta, who happens to be the senior-most member of the House. The new Speaker will be elected on October 22.
President K R Narayanan will address a joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha on October 25 to outline the programmes and policies of the National Democratic Alliance government.
Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will introduce his council of ministers to the both Houses of Parliament.
