Pak announces federal cabinet
Pakistan's military regime has appointed six more ministers to the federal cabinet, raising its strength to eight.
Today the regime appointed retired General Moeenuddin Haider, a former provincial governor, interior minister, Omar Asghar Khan, a social scientist, minister for local government and rural development, Zubaida Jalal education minister, Abdur Razzak Dawood, an industrialist, minister for commerce, industry and production, Dr Abdul Malik Kansi minister for labour and health, and Dr Shafqat Jamot minister for food and agriculture.
Unlike the Nawaz Sharief cabinet, which was dominated by the largest province Punjab, the military has given more representation to the smaller provinces of Sindh, Balochistan and the Northwest Frontier Province.
