E-Mail this report to a friend

The 108-day-old Congress ministry headed by Chief Minister Mukut Mithi in Arunachal Pradesh was expanded today by inducting three more ministers --- two of cabinet rank and one minister of state.

With this expansion the total strength of the ministry has risen to 33. Of them 22 are cabinet ministers and the rest ministers of state. Governor Mata Prasad administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers at a function in Itanagar.

Arunachal Pradesh Congress unit chief Talo Mugli and T C Teli were sworn in as cabinet ministers while Honchum Ngandam was sworn in as minister of state.

After the swearing-in ceremony, the chief minister told newsmen that there would be no further expansion or reshuffle of his ministry. The new ministers would be allotted their portfolios in a day or two, he added.
