Panel submits report on making Tamil
the sole medium of instruction

Retired Supreme Court Judge S Mohan, who is leading the five-member committee to suggest measures to make Tamil the sole medium of instruction at all levels of education in Tamil Nadu, today handed over the committee's report to Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.

State Education Minister K Anbazhagan and Minister for Official Language and Tamil Culture Dr M Tamilkudimagan were present on the occasion.

The committee, appointed during the recently-concluded state assembly session in the wake of a protest fast by Tamil scholars, had been given time till June 30 to submit its report.

Former Indira Gandhi National Open Universtiy Vice-Chancellor Dr V C Kulandaiswamy, former Bharatidasan University Vice-Chancellor Dr S Muthukumaran and Tamil scholars Tamilannal and Pulavar Ilankumaran were also present on the occasion.
