E-Mail this report to a friend

Stars of the Tamil film world, in association with the Tamil Nadu government, will hold culture shows at Coimbatore, Madurai and Madras to raise funds to provide succour to the families of soldiers who had laid down their lives in the ongoing Kargil operations.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting presided over by state Chief Secretary A P Muthusamy at the secretariat in Madras this morning.

Among the film stars present were Sarath Kumar, Prashanth, Arun Kumar, Dhaamu, Radhika and Roja. Former India cricket captain Krishnamachari Srikkanth also attended the meeting.

The culture shows would be held at Coimbatore on July 11, Madurai on July 16 and Madras on July 18.

It was also decided that the show in Madras would be preceded by a cricket match in which leading stars and cricketers would participate.
