Four persons, including a woman, were killed when a training aircraft of the Indira Gandhi National Aviation Academy crashed in Ghazipur district.

State principal secretary (home) V K Mittal denied earlier reports quoting police officials that the ill-fated plane belonged to the Indian Air Force and was carrying service personnel. He confirmed that the aircraft belonged to IGNAA at Fursatganj, Rae Bareli.

The deceased were identified as instructor Sitaram Singh, trainee pilot Mohammad Tariq and a couple, Dr T P Singh and his wife Neema Singh.
