Talks 'aimed at defusing' tension: Aziz

E-Mail this report to a friend

Pakistan Foreign Minister Sartaj Aziz has said that the upcoming talks with his Indian counterpart Jaswant Singh would be aimed at defusing the prevailing situation on the Line of Control.

Pakistan wants to resolve all disputes with India through dialogue and this round of talks would be in pursuance of the Lahore Declaration, Aziz said while talking to the media yesterday.

Aziz would be visiting China before he flies to New Delhi on Saturday. His unscheduled Beijing trip has sparked speculation in the media that Pakistan was trying to seek China's help on the Kargil issue.
