Flt Lt Nachiketa was grilled intensely
Flight Lieutenant K Nachiketa, who was released yesterday by Pakistan after being held captive for eight days, was subjected to intense interrogation, using physical and mental methods.
''He withstood these interrogations. There are no injuries apparent at this stage,'' Group Captain K Rajaram, joint director of operations, told the media in New Delhi today.
Asked whether the 26-year-old pilot had been tortured, the officer did not make any comment. The exact modalities of the interrogation would be known later, he said.
He said the debrief and medical check-up of the pilot was completed today. After a routine check-up he would return to normal duties.
Nachiketa, who was received by President K R Narayanan at the Rashtrapati Bhavan this morning, has said he would like to get back to active duty in the Kargil sector as soon as possible.
