E-Mail this report to a friend

Ministers of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government at the Centre have been directed to declare their assets and liabilities by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee before January 30, according to official sources.

The prime minister has written a letter to all the ministers to this effect.

The prime minister's decision is in conformity with the national agenda of governance to root out corruption at the highest level.

The letter said that the ministers should also declare their movable and immovable assets. They have also been directed to declare jewellery, bank deposits and other assets belonging to their spouses.

The list of the declared assets will be placed in the Parliament library.
