Varsha:

It interested me that you talked about 'hate males'. Is this a genuine problem of men being intimidated by an opinionated woman (if that is what you mean), or is it because your readers/responders are largely males??? Do you get any 'hate fe-males'????

Here goes Ms Bhosle -- the Maharashtrian belle nee Ghaatan. Rediff ignores me addressing her as Ghataan and accepts Mosie, Shroud of Turin etc. The bias is apparent!

Ms Bhosle is perhaps the only Rediff writer rebutting her critics. This explains her defensiveness and narrow vision. Although acclaimed to call a spade a spade, she gets easily hassled by her reader's views on her insensitive writing!

As if India's major problem are the minorities and their religion (which incidentally Varsha agrees in her rebuttal). Ms Bhosle, India faces several issues of greater significance. In this context, the conversions, religious preferences, prayers vs Vande Mataram etc etc are of less importance. Therefore, fiery writers like you must use this medium to expose the misdeeds of those voted in power.

For instance, write on the BJP's inability to function, constant negotiation with its partners, the Dalits vs Ranvir Sena, Shiv Sena's atrocities, etc etc. But hell you will not, because, the Senas can get you, which in turn explains your wimpiness!

If Varsha as a Hindu is not threatened by assaults from Semitic religions, then why add fuel to the fire? Leave it to the "system". Finally, Ms Bhosle two wrongs do not make a right. Instead of condemning the ghastly acts, you objectively choose to stir religious sentiments through your writings.

Tailpiece: Heard the Shiv Sena pramukh asking the Marathi Sahitya Sammelan to return the government's money. Mr Thackeray, first, you are not the government. Second, this money does not belong to your estate nor it comes from your personal possession, and third, peep into your own backyard. You have a battalion of policemen guarding your entire neighborhood all supported by the people's money. Why do you need protection? Tigers roam the jungles free and fearless!

Varsha has stood firmly behind her ideals. Great Job and please keep it up.

Nanda may not be an exception; it is probably a rule. SPG had to block the highway to allow Priyanka and Robert speed on them, as if the highway is Inke Baap ka Maal hai.

Mohammad Yunus's son Shehryar was convicted for felony in the US. To win his freedom, Rajiv started the Festival of India, made Nancy Reagan as co-chair and on the closing day, begged Prez Reagan successfully to pardon this felon.

Fair skin and a white cap does not hide the darker sides of these rogues. Just ask the Gandhi family why Sanjiv Gandhi changed his name to Sanjay Gandhi. Why does nobody in the family talk about the paternal grandfather of Rajiv?

Just stumbled on your column today, and was quite amazed by your style of writing. You could have been more confusing and more challenging to understand had you written some convoluted answers to the comments (or questions) posted by other readers. You really have the potential but alas ! you chose to hit right back at them by being impolite and straightforward. Now I better be gone before you lambast my ass. But I would certainly like that because in my next letter ,and I assure you, I'll do the same.

I have a request for Rediff editors: You won't take this VB off your site because of all the lalloos who literally worship her; but please do a rudimentary "logic verification" on her articles while proof reading.

I wonder how Idiotic, Stupid, Dumb are the people who worship her. I really pity them.

I feel embarrassed when I read her absurd illogic on the net...like I would feel embarrassed if I were to watch Amitabh's Jadugar with some American friends...for goodness sake, realise that you do not really know who might be reading this stuff!

In her "reply"!! to readers hate mail, she applies her wild, illogic again; she says "The over 82% Hindu population doesn't avail of subsidies, upkeep costs or damages WRT festivities. Re. inconvenience, halt pavement namaaz, taziyas, amplified azaan and nocturnal iftaari set-ups". (This was a response to my earlier mail).

Dear lady(?!), what pavement namaaz are you talking about? The incident in 1992, when the Babri Masjid was martyred? Are you saying that because in 1992 some Muslims in some cities used this method to protest the crime, Hindus get the right to eternally put to inconvenience all Indians by putting up idols on all street corners in every city and town?

"amplified azaan"?!! And amplified bhajans, amplified suprabhat, amplified gayatri mantras, amplified bhakti songs (from movies!), well these are all for public entertainment?! Yeah, it is a social service I guess, for all those poor who can't go to movies, or posses music systems!!

Nocturnal iftaari setups? The said "nocturnal setups" take place INSIDE homes, INSIDE Mosques, and INSIDE or AROUND restaurants, and thelas. And the restaurant and thela setups, let me tell you (as if you did not know very well) are patronised as much by the Hindus as the Muslims (you guys can't help it...Muslims cook too well!!). As a side note, I am curious, did you ever go to eat at such a place? Or don't you even touch food touched by Muslims?(whether I believe a liar is entirely my prerogative).

And then, the gem of the piece: "And, immersing Kali in water is a lot better than spraying non-Muslim pedestrians with god-knows-what-not during the manifestation of shokh in Muharram processions". Are you saying that during the procession, the Shias actually make sure that they spray only the non-Muslims with "god-knows-what-not"? DO you mean someone actually asks you if you are a Muslim and sprays you with this deadly stuff if you say "No"? And what exactly is this dreaded stuff? Is it this stuff that caused you to go so totally crazy?

Do you know that Shias constitute about 10% of the Muslim population in India, who themselves constitute about 12% of the entire population? Do the math, and it is 1.2% of the entire population... and they are basically concentrated in 4, 5 cities in the country. Are you saying that this "dreaded" stuff that 1.2% of the population "sprays" once a year on hapless "Non-Muslims" is far more lethal than the thousands of idols, weighing tons of "god-knows-what" (I said Ganesh, Kali, Durga idols, etc..not just Kali by the way) that pollutes the ponds and lakes month after month? I guess you do not want to talk about the healthy, healing, nice stuff that gets sprayed on Holi, and the Diwali fireworks, that fill our collective Indian lungs with their fragrance and smoke..and the soothing music they provide, and colour our streets with beautiful paper the next morning, meanwhile barbequing some of our beautiful Indian children into most beautifullest (Shakespeare English) kababs!

Another gem from the lady was "Like, said security isn't necessitated by the nice-nice exploits of Islamic terrorists.."...first, don't ever use "Islamic terrorists", next, your logic here is, because Kashmiri militants target Hindu pilgrims, Indian Muslims should be held responsible? So the government should protect Hindu pilgrims, but not Muslims?! Whoever sprayed that "god-knows-what" on you during the Muhurram procession did a real thorough job! You are completely ga-ga!!.

Another gem (soon you can make yourself a necklace with all your gems!): "Sweets, do something about Dawood Ibrahim & Co. Then Hindustan won't need so much policing." So you mean, because India has to spend money on countering Dawood's mafia, that should be added to the Indian Muslims's bill?!!!Or are you saying the responsibility of bringing Dawood to book lies entirely with the India Muslim?! And the Ranvir Senas, and Bajrang Dal, and Shiv Sena and Veerappan, etc...go on your family's personal bill?!!

Like I said, please pass VB's articles through a rudimentary logic verification...and VB, this is for you: I know you are not as stupid as you sound (through some of your other articles); do you plan to continue with this stupid act for your gallery of nitwit "fans" for the rest of your life?

Bravo Ms Bhosle! I love the way you take on all comers. Please continue writing. If there are any more of those readers who threaten to stop reading your columns and that they will ask their left toe and right toe to also stop reading them, you can use this curse: "may you have ingrown toenails on both sides".

Varsha Bhosle, I think is one of the few good writers Rediff has in its list. Varsha writes what the common man thinks about the situation in India. And that is what makes it distinct among other articles.

I am happy to see that there are some writers like Varsha in the news media, who writes the TRUTH and nothing but the TRUTH.

Keep up the good work Varsha.

Enjoyable. That's the beauty of the 'net -- you can get at them -- just as much as they get at you. The mail you receive is sometimes laughable, and you are justified in poking fun at it. Why should everyone be politically correct? I like your columns.

Subject: Varsha, the NRI Hypocrite

I think this Varsha character seems to be totally ignorant of the conditions that people face living in India. I guess it is easy to speak a whole lot of bull when you are miles away. Her support for fundamentalist Hindu radicals in India can be compared to the Klu Klux Klan in Europe and America.

Tell me Varsha, would you support organisations like the KKK in the States????? I am sure you wouldn't like some deranged white idiot coming up to you and calling you a "shit coloured bastard" and then pour gas on you to smoke you out???? If you do, then you must also think KKK is justified, everyone other than white living in the US should be killed and WHITE SUPREMACY should rule. Well, the VHP, Sena and other radicals in India ones are no less than the KKK or the Taliban or for that matter of fact any Islamic terrorist organisation.

I think we Indians should first execute and get rid of the so-called nationalist people like Varsha and parties like the VHP and Shiv Sena who are a threat within the country before going on to tackle other slop minded morons who use religion to exploit the masses for their sweet means.

And as for Varsha, I think she is nothing but a total hypocrite who chooses to remain outside the country and let out inflammatory shyte about people wanting to live peacefully in the country. So back off and let us Indians deal with our problems. If you do have a little bit of non-hypocritic attitude, you will never write such columns again.
