Punjab cops demand ban on Jaspal Bhatti film

E-Mail this report to a friend

The Punjab Police Service Association today demanded a ban on humorist Jaspal Bhatti's movie Mahaul Theek Hai, saying it maligned the force by depicting its officers as a drunkard, and corrupt.

A resolution to this effect was adopted at the association meeting held in Amrsitar. It urged the Punjab government to ban the movie and take stern action against Jaspal Bhatti because the movie undermined the police-public relaionship by painting a wrong picture about the force.

The association said if the government did not take any action, it would be forced take action against the movie on its own.

Mahaul Theek Hai is a satire on the functioning of the Punjab police.
