Demonstrations against Zee News in Kathmandu

A Special Correspondent in Kathmandu

The Communist Party of Nepal (Marxist-Leninist) held demonstrations against the Zee News television channel in Kathmandu on Thursday.

The demonstrators protested against the report on Zee News that a Nepali citizen was involved in the hijacking of Flight 814. Anti-India slogans were heard, and an effigy of a television monitor representing Zee News was burnt.

Earlier, the Nepal government denied that one of its citizens was involved in the hijack.
