BJP's O Rajagopal to contest from Trivandrum

BJP deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha O Rajagopal will contest the coming Lok Sabha elections from Trivandrum in Kerala.

According to the list approved by the central election committee of the party for the state, national executive member K Raman Pillai and party state secretary P K Krishnadas will be the party nominees for the Mavelikkara and Kasaragod seats, respectively.

According to the recent seat-sharing agreement among the nine-member National Democratic Alliance in the state, the leading partner, BJP, was allotted 11 seats, leaving the remaining nine to its partners. However, the combine has since decided to leave one more seat to the BJP.

The other candidates are: P C Mohanan Master (Kozhikode), O K Vasu Master (Vadakara), K Narayanan Master (Ponnani), P M Velayudan (Ottapalam), C Udayabhaskar (Palakkad), Adv T D Rajalakshmi (Ernakulam), V V Augustin (Muvattupuzha), K Ravindranath (Adoor), D Vijayakumari (Chirayinkeezhu). NDP nominee Thiruvarppu Parameshwaran will also contest from Alappuzha on the BJP symbol, party sources said today.
