Student kills principal in Multan

A disgruntled student yesterday shot and killed his college principal after the principal refused his request to declare the day a holiday, the police said.

Abdul Rehman Sungera, head of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League student wing in Multan, wanted the Government Technical College closed to let people attend a Muslim League rally, they said.

When Principal Shahid Ameen refused, Sungera shot him, the police said. Sungera is absconding and the police said a search was on.
