Two hurt in Amritsar explosion

Two people were injured when a crude bomb exploded near the old telephone exchange building in the Katra Sher Singh locality of Amritsar tonight.

According to SSP G S Sahota, the explosion damaged a few nearby buildings and shops and two vehicles. He described the explosion as minor in nature and aimed at causing panic.

Those injured were discharged after receiving first aid at a local private hospital. This is the fourth such explosion in the city in the last two years.
