Paswan will also vote against the government

The six-member Janata Dal Parliamentary Party, including former railway minister Ram Vilas Paswan, will vote against the motion of confidence tabled by Prime Minister A B Vajpayee in the Lok Sabha, top party sources said in New Delhi today.

It was being rumoured that Paswan would side with the ruling coalition because of his deep differences with Rashtriya Janata Dal president Laloo Prasad Yadav.

But he made it clear today that he would not compromise on secularism. He said his opposition to the corruption of Laloo Yadav was at the state level.

The sources said he told the party leadership that he would vote against the government.

Paswan's opposition to the RJD is likely to come up during the formation of an alternative government when he will oppose the induction of "corrupt elements" in the ministry, the sources added.
