Vajpayee will pull through, says Bansi Lal

The BJP-led coalition government at the Centre will survive the present crisis, Haryana Chief Minister Bansi Lal has said.

Addressing media persons last night, the chief minister said the ''numbers game'' in the Lok Sabha would prove that Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee enjoyed majority support. He, however, did not elaborate.

Bansi Lal, also a former defence minister declined to be drawn into the controversy over the dismissal of naval chief Admiral Vishnu Bhagwat, saying: ''It is a very sensitive issue.''

Bansi lal said, ''I am not aware of the facts to discuss the issue."

''Even if the dismissal issue is discussed by a joint parliamentary committee it should not be made public,'' he added.
