PW kills one, blasts govt building

The banned People's War outlaws shot dead a coal worker and blasted a government guesthouse in Andhra Pradesh early Thursday morning.

In three other incidents, police arrested five Praja Pratigatana (CP group) extremists.

Police said the PW extremists shot Krishna Reddy at Arunakka village in Adilabad district, suspecting him to be a police informer.

The guesthouse was blasted at Achchampet village in Nizamabad district.

Three Praja Pratigatana extremists, belonging to the Mangala dalam (squad), were arrested in an encounter with the police at Tadvai village in Warangal. They have been identified as PP zonal secretary Padma, Shaker and Syed Anwar.

Police recovered a country-made rifle and some ammunition from the spot.

Two others, courier D Muddaiah and a revolutionary singer, were arrested after the encounter.
