Vajpayee, A-team, review sanctions' fallout

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today held another round of meeting with the core group of ministers to review the possible impact of sanctions by the Western countries on India following a series of underground nuclear tests.

The prime minister held detailed talks with Home Minister L K Advani, Defence Minister George Fernandes and Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha at his official residence, 7 Racecourse Road, on the reactions of world leaders on the nuclear tests conducted by the country.

The most important aspects, which came under active consideration of the core group of ministers, was the impact of sanctions on Indian economy.

The meeting was in progress when the scientists at Pokhran conducted the second series of nuclear tests.

This was the second meeting of the core group to monitor the developments at the international level.
