Severe jolt for RJD as minister quits

The ruling Rashtriya Janata Dal received a severe jolt on the eve of the Lok Sabha election with the resignation of Bihar Parliamentary Affairs and Agriculture Minister Raghunath Jha from the Rabri Devi ministry.

Jha was annoyed with RJD supremo Laloo Prasad Yadav for not clearing his name as the party candidate from the Sheohar Lok Sabha constituency.

He sent his resignation letter to the chief minister, urging her to accept it. Rabri Devi forwarded it to Governor A R Kidwai.
