CPI-ML kills nine Ranvir Sena activistsNine people, suspected to be supporters of the dreaded landlords's private army, the Ranvir Sena, were gunned down and two others critically injured when Communist Party of India-Marxist-Leninist activists allegedly attacked them at Chouram village, 45 km from Jehanabad, on Friday night. The injured were shifted to the Patna Medical College hospital where they are recovering. The Naxalites opened fire indiscriminately when the victims were on their way home in a jeep after attending a funeral. The Naxals reportedly deflated the tyres and gunned down the fleeing villagers under the cover of darkness. Police sources said 10 suspected assailants were taken into custody for interrogation. The incident was suspected to be a sequel of the ongoing battle between the Ranvir Sena and the Naxals which escalated following last month's massacre of 61 CPI-ML supporters in Lakshampur-Bathe village in Jehanabad district.
