EC takes note of Gujral breaking poll code

E-Mail this story to a friend Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer K A Matthew has forwarded to the Election Commission, the report of the city police and corporation commissioner on the reported violation of the Model Code of Conduct by Prime Minister I K Gujral at a public meeting at the Marina beach in Madras on February 2.

Gujral, who had spoken last at the meeting organised by the DMK-TMC-CPI combine, had exceeded the 2200 hours deadline set by the Election Commission.

Mathew told newsmen that he had called for the report following a complaint from the Pattali Makkal Katchi and the same had been forwarded to the Election Commission, he added.
