I am a marine engineer who worked with the merchant navy when I was young. I lived my formative years roaming all around the world. Finally ended up collecting news about the heroes of India, meeting them and writing about them. I began the site in 1999.
My objective is to showcase good and positive news, write about the unsung heroes of India and acknowledge those who have contributed something to the country.
 Success stories inspire people. The site tries to motivate Indians by making them aware of how ordinary people are ignoring the odds achieving their goals.
Besides online efforts we also need Indians on the ground and 'doing it' for the country.
In the next five years, I predict the 'poor sector' will adopt newer technologies like mobile phones, Internet and motorcycles faster than the formal sector and grow the economy. I believe people below poverty line will be no more than 10 per cent.
