Kailash Kher walks into his recording room; his smile a little tired.

It's been a long day for the singer-composer but his eyes light up at the mention of India.

India, he says, is his mother. "What is a relationship between a mother and a child? It is unique.

"That is what India is for me -- it is that incredible relationship between a mother and her son."

"Akhand Bharat," he says, is a country that is synonymous with strength and resilience. "Yahan  prem hi sab se bada dharm hai, prem hi sab se bada mazhab hai, prem hi sab se bada zindagi jeena ka tareeka hai (Love is our religion, it is our way of life)."

And that, he says, along with the fact that it is a land steeped in spirituality, is what attracts the world towards India.

"People come to India in search of peace and spirituality." And India, he says, willingly shares this treasure with the world.

"I am thoda bhawla (a little mad)," he says. "I have that kind of mad love for my country."
