December 10, 2020 09:50 IST

Ranveer Singh stormed into Bollywood with Band Baaja Baaraat on December 10, 2010, and a star was born.

From being a newcomer with unending energy, Ranveer found growing popularity over the years.

As he completes 10 years in the industry and patiently waits for the release of his next biggie, '83, Joginder Tuteja looks at his biggest hits so far.

Padmaavat
Box office collection: Rs 302.15 crore

Ranveer's biggest hit so far is Padmaavat, where he played the villain.

The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed historical epic entered the Rs 300 crore club, something which had seemed impossible thanks to the controversies around its content and release.

Even as Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone played the positive parts, Ranveer rocked the show, and how.

Simmba
Box office collection: Rs 240.31 crore

At the end of the same year, Ranveer starred in a totally contrasting role and got his other big hit, Simmba.

The Rohit Shetty directorial released just a few weeks after his wedding to Deepika Padukone and emerged as a blockbuster.

Everyone loved Ranveer in this masala entertainer.

Bajirao Mastani
Box office collection: Rs 188 crore

Three out of five of Ranveer's biggest hits feature Deepika Padukone opposite him. That's how much audiences love their jodi.

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bajirao Mastani clashed wit Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's Dilwale at the box office, and did wait better than that.

Gully Boy
Box office collection: Rs 140 crore

Ranveer went through a image makeover with Gully Boy, where he played a young man from the slums, who was a rapper in the making.

An offbeat affair directed by Zoya Akhtar, this one features Alia Bhatt as Ranveer's lady love.

Gully Boy may not be his most popular film amongst the masses, but class audiences lapped it up.

Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram Leela
Box office collection: Rs 118.7 crore

The Ranveer-Deepika-Sanjay Leela Bhansali trio scored their first hit as a team with Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram Leela.

Ranveer and Deepika looked lovely together in this masala love story with a tragic end.

Gunday
Box office collection: Rs 78 crore

Director Ali Abbas Zafar has a knack for presenting his men as true heroes on screen and this is what he did with Gunday, starring Ranveer and Arjun Kapoor.

The bromance between the two worked very well, and Priyanka Chopra helped spice up the proceedings as well.

Gunday took a very good opening.

Dil Dhadakne Do
Box office collection: Rs 78 crore

If Ranveer has done hardcore commercial films like Simmba and Gunday, he has also gone into a different zone with films like Dil Dhadakne Do .

In Zoya Akhar's drama-on-a-cruise entertainer, Ranveer played an ultra rich urban character and showed another facet of his acting style.

Despite the film's brilliant ensemble cast, Ranveer's performance stood out.

Ladies v/s Ricky Behl
Box office collection: Rs 32.97 crore

in Ranveer's second theatrical release, he successfully demonstrated how he could turn into an uber cool character on screen.

As a conman who duped women for their money, Ranveer romanced Anushka Sharma, Parineeti Chopra, Dipannita Sharma and Aditi Sharma.

This Yash Raj affair turned out to be a decent success at the box office.

Band Baaja Baaraat
Box office collection: Rs 23.16 crore

Ranveer stormed into Bollywood with his very first release Band Baaja Baaraat.

Even though the film took a poor opening of a mere Rs 95 lakh, word-of-mouth soon spread, thanks to the film's good reviews and positive buzz.
