Another week and a spate of OTT shows and movies to watch. Here’s what Sukanya Verma recommends.

 

Enola Holmes

Language: English

The Holmes family is high on genius.

Only this time it's not Sherlock or Mycroft, but their little sister Enola, played by the remarkable Millie Bobbie Brown, stealing the scene with her smarts and sass.

Based on Nancy Springer's The Enola Holmes Mysteries, the mystery movie is a sprightly new addition in the Young Adult genre.

In a quest to find out whether his daughter died by murder or suicide a father must dive deep into dark truths in Randeep Jha's compelling thriller featuring Sachin Khedekar and Barun Sobti in rock solid turns.

 

A Dog's Journey

Language: English

There's much to go aww about for dog lovers and otherwise in the sequel to A Dog's Purpose, which celebrates the everlasting bond between man and his best friend.

The new Apple sitcom has a familiar premise -- inexperienced man to the rescue.

But funny man Jason Sudeikis keeps the laughs coming in and as Ted Lasso, the football coach whose little knowledge of the game cannot dampen his can-do spirit come what may.

If you know the language, you might want to catch this oddly named, curious looking grim drama about murky lives intertwined across strange ways and reverse chronology.

An emotional tale of a cricketer's comeback, well past his prime, returning to the game for the sake of his son benefits hugely from its star Nani's stellar turn.

A remake of the film starring Shahid Kapoor in the lead is in the works and slated for a 2021 release.

 

Sudigundalu

Language: Telugu

Winner of the Best Film National Award, the 1968 classic marks Nagarjuna's debut as a child actor opposite father Akkineni Nageshwara Rao.

Sudigundalu's significance lies in its message of compassion, conditioning and belief that under right parental and social guidance, every child will grow into a responsible citizen.

Murder, intrigue, politics, a whole lot of drama and unrest ensue in this late 1920s historical fiction set in the Balkans boasting of slick production values and crackling performances.

Schitt's Creek sweeping win at the Emmys earlier this week has its fans in a tizzy.
