It's comeback time for these actors!

June 23, 2020 17:22 IST

It's comeback time for many Bollywood stars.

With the OTT platform opening up, quite a few actors, who had taken a break, are getting ready to be seen again!

Joginder Tuteja lists them here:

Sushmita Sen, Aarya
10 years after No Problem (2010)

It has been a decade since Sushmita was last seen on the big screen.

Sush featured in No Problem along with Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Suniel Shetty and Kangana Ranaut.

Now, India's first Miss Universe plays the lead in her big comeback in Aarya.

Chandrachur Singh, Aarya
19 years after Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya (2001)

The last (mildly) successful film that Chandrachur starred in was Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya.

After that, he did some insignificant roles in over half a dozen films and none of them worked at the box office.

He returns in Aarya and is being talked about all over again.

Shilpa Shetty, Hungama 2, Nikamma
14 years after Apne (2003)

After two back-to-back hits in Life... In A Metro and Apne, Shilpa went on a long post mrriage break.

She is now getting ready for a comeback with two films, Hungama 2 and Nikamma.

Though the films were planned for release this year, they will be pushed to 2021.

Dhanush, Atrangi Re
6 years after Shamitabh (2015)

Dhanush started well in Bollywood with Raanjhana, but his next film Shamitabh was rather disappointing.

The actor, of course, continues to do very well in Tamil cinema.

He reunites with his Raanjhana Director Aanand L Rai in Atrangi Re after seven years.

In this triangular love story, he has Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan as his co-stars.

Lara Dutta, Hundred
9 years after Don 2 (2011)

With quite a few successful films to her credit, Lara signed off in style with Don 2, where she was seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

India's second Miss Universe settled down with tennis ace Mahsh Bhupathi and recently made her comeback with the comedy, Hundred.

The series sees her playing a no-nonsense cop who forges a partnership with a kid on the block, Sairat star Rinku Rajguru.

Nagarjuna, Brahmastra
18 years after LOC: Kargil (2003)

Nagarjuna has enjoyed an evergreen career in Telugu cinema, but has stayed away from Bollywood for years now. His last Hindi film outing was in J P Dutta's war drama LOC: Kargil.

Now one waits to see him in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan.

Zayed Khan, yet-untitled film
6 years after Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene (2015)

Zayed returns in a war drama which is expected to roll in 2021.

It is being put together by dad Sanjay Khan, who is writing the story about war hero Brigadier Mohammad Usman who laid down his life in the 1947 India-Pakistan War.

Zayed -- who had a wonderful debut in Farah Khan's Main Hoon Na -- was last seen in Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene, co-starring Rannvijay Singh and Tena Desae.

Ameesha Patel, Tauba Tera Jalwa, Desi Magic
8 years after Shortcut Romeo (2013)

Though she's super active on social media, Ameesha -- who starred in Gadar... Ek Prem Katha, one of the earliest super hits of the new century -- has stayed away from the movies for a long time.

Her much-delayed Bhaiyaji Superhit released a couple of years ago, and her last film as leading lady was Shortcut Romeo.

Ameesha signed Tauba Tera Jalwa earlier this year and her much-delayed Desi Magic is expected to release in 2021.
