It's ALL IN THE FAMILY for Bollywood!

August 21, 2020 11:17 IST

Karan Johar had told us that 'It's all about loving your parents.'

But then, why restrict it to that?

Bollywood tells us that it's, in fact, all about loving your family!

And so, film folk have often made films with their family members.

Joginder Tuteja looks at some of these ventures, coming up:

The Bhatts have given breaks to numerous actors and technicians over the years.

But when the talent at home is so successful, why not make a film with her?

No wonder, Mahesh Bhatt is making a comeback to direction with his daughter Alia Bhatt in Sadak 2.

His older daughter Pooja, who was a part of the original film, makes her presence felt in the sequel too.

Salman Khan-Aayush Sharma

Salman Khan launched his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma in the movies with Loveyatri.

It may not have worked, but Bhai is giving him a second chance with Guns of North.

This time, the film's genre changes from romance to action.

David Dhawan-Varun Dhawan
Coolie No 1

Papa David Dhawan and son Varun have already delivered a couple of comedy hits together in Main Tera Hero and Judwaa 2.

Now they come together for the remake of Coolie No. 1. Had there been no lockdown, the film would have already released by now.

The duo don't plan to release it on OTT, and we will have to wait for the theatres to open again to watch it.

Rakesh Roshan-Hrithik Roshan
Krrish 4

With a 100 percent hit record behind them as a director and actor, Rakesh Roshan and his son Hrithik are a formidable combination.

The biggest hit they've had is Krrish 3, so now, it's time they come together for Krrish 4.

Though the release date is yet to be announced, the intent has been made clear.

Akshay Kumar-Alka Hiranandani
Raksha Bandhan

Akshay is dedicating his next movie Raksha Bandhan to his sister Alka Hiranandani.

She's not the producer of the film, but as a mark of love and respect, Akshay has brought her on board to present the film.

This one has to be special as it's about the brother-sister bond.

Aditya Chopra-Uday Chopra
Dhoom: 4

Think Uday Chopra and you will think of Dhoom.

Though he did have a successful start with films like Mohabbatein and Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, he is remembered the most for Dhoom, one of Bollywood's biggest action entertainer franchises.

With the announcement of Dhoom 4 all set to be made, one can be rest assured that Uday's lovable character Ali will be back soon.

Anil Kapoor-Harsvardhan Kapoor

Harshvardhan Kapoor's first two films -- Mirzya and Bhavesh Joshi -- weren't produced by his father Anil Kapoor.

Harsh will join his dad for his third film, and they will play father-son in reel life.

An Abhinav Bindra biopic, the film went on the floors just before the lockdown.

Ajay Devgn-Kajol
Tribhanga

Two years ago, Ajay Devgn produced Helicopter Eela for wife Kajol. This year, they were seen in the blockbuster Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.

Next, Kajol will be seen in Renuka Shahane's directorial Tribhanga, once again produced by Devgn.

Bhushan Kumar-Divya Khosla Kumar
Satyameva Jayate 2

Though Bhushan Kumar has produced a couple of movies for his wife Divya Khosla Kumar, who turned director with Yaariyaan and Sanam Re, of late, she has been focusing on acting, courtesy her music videos.

Divya is ready to make a full-fledged comeback as an actress with Satyameva Jayate 2 and Bhushan is backing it up entirely.

Zayed will make a comeback in a war drama, which is expected to roll in 2021.

It is being put together by his father Sanjay Khan, who has written the story about war hero Brigadier Mohammad Usman, who laid down his life in the 1947 India-Pakistan war.
