Celine Dion, Penelope Cruz and Amy Adams

We have seen quite a number of pregnant stars over the years on the Oscar red carpet. This year too, Natalie Portman showed off her baby bump in a lovely floor-length purple gown by Rodarte (the same label that created a few of her ballet costumes in Black Swan).

There were also stunning post-pregnancy pictures of Penelope Cruz, Amy Adams and Celine Dion.

Most incredible was Penelope's pictures considering she just gave birth a month ago to her son Leo Encinas Cruz. The plunging L'wren Scott red dress showed off her stunning figure to perfection as the 36-year-old Spanish actress' husband Javier Bardem, nominated for the Best Actor award for his role in Biutiful, looked on with pride.

Celine Dion too stunned us with with her svelte physique. The singer, who gave birth to twins Eddy and Nelson just four months ago, looked radiant in a Giorgio Armani Prive gown.

Another yummy mummy was Amy Adams, who sparkled in a blue L'Wren Scott dress. She gave birth to her little girl Aviana Olea Le Gallo 10 months ago.

Lynn Harless and Justin Timberlake

Meanwhile, we spotted a few stars who chose to bring their mothers as their plus-one to the 83rd Academy Awards.

Justin Timberlake came with mother Lynn Harless instead of girlfriend Jessica Biel, who we later spotted at the Oscar after party.

Russell Brand and Barbara

We were surprised to see Russell Brand without his wife Katy Perry. That is until we came to know she is away on tour.

Which is why the British comedian took his mum, Barbara. "This is my mum, Babs," he told to TV interviewers and fans.

Tom Hooper and Meredith

Tom Hooper, who grabbed the Best Director award at the Oscars for The King's Speech, came with mother Meredith.

Before The King's Speech, the 38-year-old's best known feature film was The Damned United, the story of Brian Clough's ill-fated reign as Leeds United manager.
