Television seems to have become more lucrative than movies for our Bollywood stars. The small screen is offering actors huge sums to make the desi versions of international shows more appealing.

According to a report in The Economic Times, Amitabh Bachchan will get Rs 1.5 crore per episode for hosting the fourth season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. That is a steep raise from what he earned in the first season, Rs 80 lakh per episode.

Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar is rumoured to be getting between Rs 1.2 crore and Rs 1.5 crore per episode for hosting the desi version of Master Chef India.

Salman Khan

Salman Khan is apparently packing in Rs 1.2 crore per episode of Bigg Boss 4. The actor plans to host the desi version of Big Brother in a style different from that of the previous hosts Arshad Warsi, Shilpa Shetty and Amitabh Bachchan.

Priyanka Chopra

Actresses, however, don't command as high a rate as the actors. Priyanka Chopra is earning nearly Rs 60 lakh per episode of Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi 3.

Hrithik Roshan

The latest to join the TV bandwagon may be Hrithik Roshan. The actor is said to be in talks with Star Plus to host the desi version of So You Think You Can Dance, and may be the highest paid actor on TV at Rs 2 crore per episode.
