Mana Janaab Ne Pukara Nahi, Paying Guest (1957)

S D Burman's music and Kishore Kumar's voice made a terrific combination in this song. But it was Dev Anand who made the song stylish, and even more popular. 

He made a charming couple with Nutan. 

Paying Guest was directed by Subodh Mukherjee. 

Accha Ji Main Haari, Kala Pani (1958)

Kala Pani was produced by Dev Anand and directed by Raj Khosla, father of Milan Luthria, whose The Dirty Picture just released last week.

A playful lover's tiff, Accha Ji Main Haari was composed by S D Burman, and sung by Mohammed Rafi and Asha Bhosle. Madhubala does a good job of wining over Dev Anand here.

Hum Bekhudi Main Tum Ko Pukare, Kala Pani (1958)

Kala Pani had some very beautiful songs like Hum Bekhudi Main Tum Ko Pukare, Achcha ji Main Haari Chalo and Najar Lagi Raja Tore Bangale Par.

Dev Anand gave a striking performance in this film about a young man who learns about his father's wrongful implication in a 15-year-old murder, and vows to bring the true criminals to justice.

Khoya Khoya Chand, Kala Bazar (1960)

Dev Anand had a very good ear for music, and knew just too well how to select songs for his film. He made sure this song --composed by S D Burman and song by Mohammed Rafi -- was a winner.

Kala Bazar was written and directed by Vijay Anand, who also acted in the film.

Hai Apna Do To Awaara, Solva Saal (1958)

Sung by Hemant Kumar, Hai Apna Do To Awaara music was composed by S D Burman.

The film has been directed by Raj Khosla, who also made a special appearance in it.

A beautiful romantic film, Dev Anand plays a journalist, who helps Waheeda Rehman retrieve her stolen necklace from Pran.

Yeh Dil Na Hato Bechara, Jewel Thief (1967)

Picturised on Dev Anand and Tanuja, this is a fun number where you can see Dev Anand walking in his signature style.

Jewel Thief is perhaps one of Vijay Anand's best films. A crime thriller, it is loved by people even today.The music was scored by S D Burman and sung by Kishore Kumar.

Phoolon Ke Rang Se, Prem Pujari (1970)

Prem Pujari (1970) was produced, directed and written by Dev Anand. The soundtrack -- by S D Burman -- was very popular. Phulon Ke Rang Se has been sung by Kishore Kumar.

While Prem Pujari did not do too well at the box office, the songs like Rangeela Re, Shokhiyon Mein and Phoolon Ke Rang Se were a huge hit. 

Pal Bhar Ke Liye Koi Hume Pyar Karle, Johny Mera Naam (1970)

Johny Mera Naam was directed by Vijay Anand.

The music was composed by Kalyanji-Anandji, and sung by Kishore Kumar. The song Pal Bhar Ke Liye is so popular till date that it was even used in an episode of The Simpsons in 2006.

Dev Anand and Pran play brothers who get separated in childhood.

Johny Mera Naam was the highest grossing Hindi film of the year, and the seventh highest grossing Hindi film of the decade.

Gata Rahe Mera Dil, Guide (1965)

S D Burman, who had drastically cut down his work in the early 1960s due to health problems, made a mindblowing comeback with Guide. Gata Rahe Mera Dil was sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar.

Guide was India's official entry for the Annual Academy Awards.
