Yash Raj Films' Best Action Film? VOTE!

After a string of romantic films like Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and Band Baaja Baarat, Yash Raj Films' next film happens to be Ishaqzaade -- an action-packed launch pad for Boney Kapoor's son Arjun. It also stars Parineeti Chopra.

While YRF remains the champion of romantic films, some of its action films have been pretty good too.

The promo of Ishaqzaade is looking very good, and it may just join the list of good actioners from this banner.

Dhoom

One of the most successful action films that came out of the YRF banner, Dhoom featured drool-worthy bikes and macho men -- John Abraham's broody demeanour, Abhishek Bachhcan's no-nonsense cop and Uday Chopra's naive crook were big hits with viewers.

Dhoom 2

Dhoom 2 replicated the success of the first film.

Hrithik Roshan played an international thief with a ripped body and a skimpily-clad Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played his accomplice.

The action shifted to Brazil this time and there was plenty to feast one's eyes on, from sun-kissed beaches to a bikini-clad Bipasha Basu. 

Tashan

YRF's 2008 film Tashan was all style and little substance.

Anil Kapoor plays Bhaiyyaji, a Bhojpuri-speaking don who wants to learn 'Englissss' while Saif Ali Khan plays a call centre executive, who is summoned by Kareena Kapoor to teach him.

Akshay Kumar, who plays a country bumpkin, rounds off the cast of this film fashioned after a Western.

New York

Kabir Khan's 2009 thriller New York starring Katrina Kaif, John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh was praised for its theme and treatment.

The film traces the jouney of the three friends living in the Big Apple, when terror strikes and rips their world apart.

Kabul Express

Kabir Khan's first fictional film Kabul Express, by his own admission, was based on his experiences in post-war Afghanistan when he went there to shot his documentaries.

The film follows two Indian journalists (John Abraham and Arshad Warsi), who are sent to the country to report about civilian life in the war-ravaged areas. There encounters with the Taliban and a fellow journalist from the US make the film engaging.

Mashaal

Based on a famous Marathi play, Mashaal highlights the clash of ideals between Dilip Kumar and Anil Kapoor, a vagabond he takes in as a kid brings up as his own.

Dilip Kumar's upright, idealistic character does a complete turnaround to exact revenge from those who've made his life miserable and this causes a conflict between his his old principles and his new self.

Lafangey Parindey

Lafangey Parindey offers some ringside action for the viewers as Neil Nitin Mukesh plays a fighter who knocks down his opponents even when blidfolded.

His attempts to teach a blind girl (Deepika Padukone) how to 'see with one's ears' make for interesting watch too.

Kaala Patthar

One of the most iconic action films to come out of Yash Raj banner, Kaala Patthar saw Amitabh Bachchan play a disgraced Navy officer who spends his days working in a coal mine incognito.

Together with a fellow miner (Shatrughan Sinha) and their incharge (Shashi Kapoor), he fights their unreasonable employers and his own demons.

Darr

Shah Rukh Khan plays a psychotic lover who just can't give up stalking Kiran (Juhi Chawla) and making her life hell.

When blood-soaked letters and blank calls become too much to handle, Kiran's fiance Sunil (Sunny Deol) takes matters into his own hands to put an end to their misery.
