Aamir Khan made his directorial debut with the much-lauded Taare Zameen Par in 2007.

His wife Kiran Rao, who started her film career as an assistant director on Lagaan, made her first film Dhobi Ghat in 2011, and directed her perfectionist husband in it. It opened to rare reviews.

Bend It Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha, who also directed the Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Bride & Prejudice, has been married to American screenwriter and director Paul Mayeda Berges for more than a decade.

Berges has directed Mistress of Spices, another film starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, in 2005. Unfortunately, he didn't get it right.

Filmmaker Ketan Mehta, who directed Mangal Pandey: The Rising and the still-unreleased Rang Rasiya, is married to actress/director Deepa Sahi.

Sahi has acted in several Ketan Mehta films including Maya Memsaab and Aar Ya Paar.

In 2011, she directed the flop, Tere Mere Phere.
