On Independence Day, we asked a few television actors to list their favourite patriotic movies and songs. And here's what they said.

Take a look:

My favourite film is Karma because of the brilliant performances by Dilip Kumar, Nutan, Anupam Kher and almost everyone.

(I love) The song Har Karam Apna Karenge Aye Watan Tere Liye because it shows true love and passion for the country. That’s true patriotism for me -- not just saying I love my country but also meaning it.

Border was my first ever conscious patriotic film experience.

I was so inspired by it that my dreams to be an army officer became bolder. It explored not only the life on the battlefield but also back home.

My favourite song is Thodi Si Dhool Meri Dharti Ki (from Rang De Basanti).

I totally loved Bhagat Singh and Rang De Basanti. They are fabulous films.

Among the recent films, Lage Rahe Munna Bhai is my favourite. It had a good message about Gandhigiri.

Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon and Mohe Rang de Basanti are my favourite songs. Also, Bande Mein Tha Dum Vande Matram from Lage Raho Munna Bhai.

My favourite patriotic film is Chak De! India. The way Shah Rukh Khan instills the spirit of winning in those girls and makes the country proud is heartening to watch.

My favorite patriotic song is Mere Watan Ke Logo.

The song has beautiful lyrics, and it’s sung by none other than Lata Mangeshkar. She adds life to the song. Every emotion in the song comes alive.

My favorite patriotic film is Richard Attenborough’s Gandhi. It still moves me and is a masterclass in the history of India’s independence and Gandhi’s life.

The scene depicting the Dandi March and the protests brings tears to my eyes each time I watch the film.

The film rouses my dormant patriotism every time I watch it.

My favourite patriotic song is Jinhe Naaz Hain Hind Par Woh Kahaan Hain from Pyaasa. It brings in me deep sense of nationalism.

My favourite film is The Legend Of Bhagat Singh.

I loved the performances from all the actors. It had a realistic approach and touched the chords the patriotism. It also showed a detailed history of how Sukhdev, Rajguru and Bhagat Singh sacrificed their lives for the nation.

My favourite patriotic song is Ab Tumahre Hawale Watan Sathiyo from Haqeekat. This song is sung by soldiers, who give their lives of the sake of nation. They are our real heroes.
