From Drashti Dhami to Sakshi Tanwar, here's looking at the women we love on the small screen.

Viewers are hooked on to Hindi television for good reason -- the actors and actresses on some of the shows are quite talented, and have a huge fan following.

We take a look at the top 10 actresses on television, in no particular order.

Paridhi Sharma

Paridhi, who plays the Rajputana princess Jodha in Ekta Kapoor’s period drama Jodha-Akbar, has a huge fan following.

She has put in lots of hard work in bringing out the finer nuances of the princess’s character.

Drashti may be out of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa but there's no denying that she's extremely popular.

Her sizzling chemistry with co-stars Gurmeet Choudhary (Geet Hui Sabse Parayi) and Vivian D Sena (Madhubala) has gone down well with audiences.

Surbhi Jyothi

Surbhi played Zoya beautifully in Qubool Hai.

When the show took a generation leap, Surbhi returned as Zoya's daughter Sanam, and was just as believable.

Hina Khan

Hina is best known for her role of Akshara in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

Beautiful and vibrant, she needs to progress from a daily soap to keep the recognition meter going.

Jennifer Winget

Dil Mil Gaye brought her to the attention of audiences. Jennifer is known for her stylish clothes and glamour.

Her popularity only increased after her marriage to television hunk Karan Singh Grover.

Jennifer is still going strong in her role as Kumud in Saraswatichandra.

Preetika Rao

After acting in several south Indian films, Preetika made her television debut with Beintehaa.

Her character Aaliya has made her very popular in a short span of time. Her fans love her just the way she is.

Ankita Lokhande

Ankita became popular with the daily soap Pavitra Rishta, where she starred opposite her actor beau Sushant Singh Rajput.

There were reports that she was quitting the show because she had to portray the role of a grandmother as the serial took a time leap.

She resumed shooting after three months, as she was promised a double role (she plays the granddaughter as well)

Apparently, now the show is set to take another jump of four years.

Sanaya Irani

With Iss Pyaar Ki Kya Naam Doon and Miley Jab Hum Tum, Sanaya’s fan following grew bigger than most television heroes’.

She failed to impress in Chhanchhan, but as the demure Paro in Rangrasiya, viewers have no reason to complain.

Hindi is not Sanaya’s first language and she has, on her own admission, struggled to sound comfortable in the show that has a Rajasthani milieu.

Sanjeeda Sheikh

Sanjeeda Sheikh became a recognisable face with Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka.

She gave some very good dance performances and eventually won the dance reality show Nach Baliye with her actor husband Aamir Ali.

Sanjeeda plays Durga Thakur in Ek Hasina, a powerful role she carries with ease.

Sanjeeda recently set the stage on fire when she performed an aerial act during an awards function.

Sakshi Tanwar

She is effortless in her acting and has become the favourite wife, mother and daughter of viewers.
