Dileep's The Metro is out to thrill you

Malayalam viewers can look forward to a thriller this week with The Metro whose tagline reads "It could happen to you".

Actor Dileep is the producer of the film which is directed by Bipin Prabhakar (of One Way Ticket, Khaki and Samasthakeralam P O) and scripted by Vyasan Edavanakkad.

The film stars Sarath Kumar, Bhavana, Nivin Pauly and Bhagath Manuel.

The film's plot is mainly based on three separate incidents taking place in Ernakulam.

"A gruesome murder takes place and some innocent persons become part of the muddle quite unexpectedly," says Vyasan, who was also in charge of marketing the film Twenty 20, one of the biggest blockbusters ever in Malayalam.

"Mobile phones have become part of their lives for today's youngsters. They use it when it is needed and at times, when it is not needed as well. But it changes the lives of a few forever, in this story," he added.

The first incident in the story is about the murder of a young politician, which happens during an election. The policeman in charge of the investigation is CI Jacob Alexander, played by Sarath Kumar.

The main suspect in the episode is a don named Paruthikkadan played by Suresh Krishna. There is tremendous pressure on CI Jacob Alexander when he gets closer to nabbing the culprits.

The second incident involves Anupama, played by Bhavana, who is a techie.

The third one has a group of five friends who are on the way back from Pala and get involved in some unexpected events at the metro.

Nivin Pauly and Bhagath Manuel (who played Prakashan and Purushu respectively in Malarvady Arts Club), Suraj Venjarammoodu, Beyon and Arun are the five friends who arrive at Ernakulam on a fateful night and become part of some strange events.

Bhavana, who has become active in Malayalam after a break, was the heroine of Dileep in the recent hit Marykkundoru Kunjaadu. She is also playing Jayaram's heroine in the soon to be released Kudumbasree Travels.

The Metro has been made under the banner of Graand Productions. The cinematographer is Sri Sriram and the music director is Shaan Rahman. The distribution is by Manjunadha.
