Rachcha which releases this week, is Ram Charan Tej's first film after the tepid Orange. Charan took up this film after shooting Meruppu for a while and giving it up.

The film is directed by Sampath Nandi (whose debut film was Yemaindi Ee Vela) and produced by R B Choudhary of Supergood Movies.

The leading lady in the film is Tamannaah. Tamil actor Ajmal Ameer (of Ko fame) makes his Telugu debut. The movie is to be dubbed in Tamil as Ragalai and in Malayalam as Raksha.

Partheeban and Dev Gill also form part of the cast. Lisa Haydon has done the item number in the film.

The film has so far been shot in difficult-to-reach locations in China and Sri Lanka.

"We shot in Sri Lanka, China, and parts of Kerala. We travelled a lot for this film. The locations we shot in were not easy to reach, not easy to work in. We had an amazing crew--Sampath Nandi Sir and Sameer Reddy (cinematographer). It was a cool team. I enjoyed working on the sets," says Tamannaah.

Tamannah remembers one really hostile location. "Charan and I were in a forest full of so many leeches that we couldn't even put our feet down." But that was not a deterrent to the cast and crew.

As Tamannaah adds, "Even in that kind of an ambience, we enjoyed ourselves in the 10-day schedule in Sri Lanka because of the moral support that was there around us."

One of Chiranjeevi's old songs Vaana Vaana Veluvaaye (from Gang Leader) is remixed in Rachcha and choreographed by Shobi. In Charan's Magadheera, Chiranjeevi's song Bangaru Kodipetta (Gharana Mogudu) was done so in which both father and son shook a leg together.

Tamannaah enjoyed shooting the Vaana song. "This song of Chiranjeevi Sir was such a huge hit and now it's being done with Charan who looks fab in the song and has danced brilliantly."

Rachcha is touted as a mass entertainer having all the necessary ingredients. "Rachcha should appeal to Charan's fans, who are eagerly waiting for it," says Tamannaah, who herself has "an interesting role with a couple of layers to it."

The Parachuri brothers pen the dialogues, Mani Sharma composes the music, and the choreographers are Raju Sundaram and Shobi.

The film is slated to release in a large number of theatres across Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Perhaps one of the first films to have such a big release on the same day!
