Mammootty has been on a roller coaster ride in recent times with his films doing well and sometimes not so well at the box office. No wonder, he has turned to director Shafi with whom he has made several successful films in the past such as Thommanum Makkalum, Mayavi and Chattambinadu. They are currently shooting for their latest collaboration, Venice ile Vyapari.

Scenarist James Albert, who has earlier written Classmates, Cycle and Ividam Swargamanu, has reportedly set the story in Alappuzha, which is popularly known as the 'Venice of the East'. Kavya Madhavan plays the heroine in Venice ile Vyapari.

The shooting of director Lal Jose's Spanish Masala is currently underway in Spain. Dileep plays the hero in the film, which has been scripted by Benny P Nayarambalam. The trio had earlier come together in the blockbuster Chanthupottu.

Daniela Zacheri is the female lead in the film.

Lal Jose has written in his blog that the shooting of the film started in Madrid's Jardines de Sabatini where a candle was lit and there was a gentle drizzle as if to shower blessings. Cinematographer Lokanathan canned some shots for a song sequence featuring Dileep and Daniela.

Kunchacko Boban has been the heartthrob of Malayalam cinema ever since his debut as a hero in the 1997 film Aniyathipravu. Now, he plays a 'romance consultant' in debutant director K Biju's Dr Love, which will hit the theatres during Onam.

The big season is going to be really special for Chackochan (as he is known to all), with another big release, director Joshiy's Sevens. Bhavana plays the heroine in Dr Love, while Bhama, Rima Kallingal and Nadia Moidu are the female leads in Sevens.

Says the happy hero, "I am receiving some fine roles of varying shades of late, like the baddie in Seniors, and it is really heartening."
