With Mammootty's Best Actor hitting the cinemas, can the other big M remain silent? Well, his answer is Kandahar, directed by Major Ravi.

One of the highlights of the film is the presence of legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, who has a brief role.

Kandahar will mark the return of Major Mahadevan, the hugely popular army officer played by Mohanlal.

The character first appeared in Kirti Chakra and then in Kurukshetra.

Major Ravi says that the film's story is a fictionalised version of the Kandahar hijack episode.
