Shakeela, who was a sensation in Malayalam cinema thanks to the huge success of her adult movies a few years ago, is back. But this time, her role is mainly as a director!

The launch of Neelakkurinji Poothu, her debut film as a director, was held in Kochi this week. She has made it clear that her directorial venture will not have any 'masala' scenes but is going to be a family entertainer.

She will be acting in the film as well and the shooting is expected to start soon.

Shakeela played a cameo in the Mohanlal starrer Chotta Mumbai, in a comical scene, some time after her "star status" faded away.
