It's raining love in Telugu cinema this Valentine's Day
Three Telugu films -- Nippu, Love Failure and Poolarangadu -- are slated to release this week. We take a look at what's on offer.
Film: Nippu
Director: Gunasekhar
Cast: Ravi Teja, Deeksha Seth
This is Ravi Teja's first release this year. Originally supposed to hit theatres during Sankranti, Nippu got postponed to February 17.
Produced by YVS Chowdhury and directed by Gunasekhar, this Ravi Teja-Deeksha Seth starrer is touted as an entertainer.
Nippu has doses of comedy, romance and action and is high on emotion.
Deeksha Seth plays an athlete. Others in the cast include Dr Rajendra Prasad, Brahmanandam, Brahmaji, Pradeep Rawat, Mukul Dev, Krishnudu and Pragathi.
S S Thaman, the much-in-demand music composer at present, scores music for Nippu and Love Failure after Businessman and Bodyguard Thaman.
Sarvesh Murari is behind the camera, Anand Sai is the art director, Kanal Kanan composes the fights and Gautham Raju is the editor.
Love Failure
Director: Balaji Mohan
Cast: Siddharth, Amala Paul
Directed by debutant Balaji Mohan, this is a bi-lingual. It's called Kadhalil Sodhavapuvadhu Eppadi in Tamil and Love Failure in Telugu.
This love story has Siddharth and Amala Paul, who is acting in her first film with Siddharth. In fact, a short film with the same title posted on the internet by the director attracted the attention of Siddharth who got the director to enlarge it into a feature film.
Siddharth turns producer and co-produces this film with Sashikanth and Nirav Shah. Bellamkonda Suresh releases the film in Telugu.
What happens when a boy and girl having contradictory views on love is the thread around which the film revolves. Thaman composes music for this film shot by Nirav Shah. T S Suresh edits the film.
Love Failure releases on February 17.
Poolarangadu
Director: Veerabhadran
Cast: Sunil, Isha Chawla
After Maryada Ramanna and KSD Appalraju Sunil is the hero in Poolarangadu too. In fact, for this film, Sunil has developed a six-pack figure which he shows off too! Isha Chawla is paired opposite Sunil.
Poolarangadu is presented by RR Movie Makers' Achi Reddy and directed by Veerabhadram (of Aha Naa Pellanta fame). Originally scheduled to release during Sankranti, Poolarangadu, like Nippu, was postponed to February.
The others in the cast include Kota Srinivasa Rao, Ali, Pradeep Rawat, Raghubabu and Dev Gill.
Anoop Reubens scores the music. Prasad Murella is the cinematographer. Kanal Kannan choreographs the fights.
Poolarangadu releases on February 18.
