Young Malayalam hero Prithviraj plays a reckless young brat in Thanthonni releasing this weekend. The film is directed by George Varghese and produced by Shahul Hameed Marikar, under the banner of Marikar Films.

Prithviraj plays Kochu Kunju, the youngest member of the prestigious Vadakkanveettil family. Everyone else in his family is well placed, but the young lad enjoys life on his own terms.

Kochu Kunju turns out to be quite a nuisance for the whole family since childhood. He even ran away from his home during his mid-teens. He has now returned home after more than a decade and no one has any clue as to what he has been doing during those years.

Thanthonni was initially called Kutti Kurumban and as Prithviraj says, "once the new title came up, we were all sure that there couldn't be a better one. Even my mom told me that I have long been described everyone as a Thanthonni myself in real life and it suits my character perfectly."

Thanthonni has been scripted by T A Shahid, who has earlier written the scripts for films like Balettan, Rajamanikyam, Mambazhakkalam and Ben Johnson among others.

Sajith Menon is the cinematographer, late Gireesh Puthanchery the lyricist and Tej Mervin the music director.
